Behavior Support Specialist

Up to $50,000

Full Time, 12pm-8pm,

We provide comprehensive community-based services that help people with special needs thrive while realizing and choosing their goals. Through education and advocacy, we provide opportunities, support and integration within our community. Among the programs and services we provide, we are the only agency to offer premier transportation and health care services in Mercer County.

Who We Need:

We are currently looking for a Full Time Behavior Support Specialist to join our Team in Mercer County. Supervision for RBT's or those obtaining BCBA certification can be provided.

What We Need:

  • Successful completion, within expected timeframes, of all trainings/re-certifications without "no shows." Maintain annual ABT certification and all other certifications as required by The Arc of Mercer County, DDD or other external authorities. Seek personal developmental opportunities to further enhance skills and knowledge in individuals served and program and agency related topics.
  • Work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.
  • Document behavioral interventions and outcomes through the use of individual progress notes.
  • Assist with gathering information and data for assessments.
  • Develop and provide staff trainings on behavioral interventions and strategies.
  • Establish on-going communication with psychiatric and mental health providers.
  • Monitor implementation of Behavioral Support Plans.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule including nights and weekends to accommodate the varied needs of the program.
  • Manage responsibilities associated with being part of an on-call rotation.
  • Maintain behavioral documentation in the electronic health records and other tracking systems.
  • Maintain behavioral documentation in the electronic health records logs for all consumers.
  • Attend departmental meetings.
  • Coordinate with medical department on behavioral issues.
  • Attend meetings for behavioral related issues.

What You Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, Human Services, Social Work, Special Education or related field.
  • Prior experience working in the field of Human Services and/or Developmental Disabilities.
  • Experience with adult DDD population and DDD regulations
  • Experience in implementing behavior modification techniques.
  • Experience in development of behavior modification strategies preferred
  • Good interpersonal, organization and writing skills.
  • Ability to define problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions necessary.
  • ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) preferred.
  • RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) preferred.
  • Under Executive Order #252,must be either vaccinated against COVID-19 or must be willing to comply with weekly testing
