Director of Finance

Competitive Salary based on experience

 

This Director of Finance position requires a minimum 5 years experience working with a non-profit agency and experience managing and overseeing a budget of  at least $5 million dollars. Experience working with a non-profit servicing people with special needs and developmental disabilities, a significant plus.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Oversee all business activities of the Agency
  • Monitor all accounting functions of the Agency including the general ledger, payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing, purchasing and all financial matters related to those activities.
  • Manage and supervise all staff in the Fiscal Department including hiring, staff performance evaluations, job training, and approval of vacation and sick time.
  • Oversee the Agency's budgeting program including budget preparation, and monthly budget monitoring
  • Oversee the financial reporting to the Executive Director, the Executive Board, grant and revenue sources as well as assisting management staff in various financial and program reports as required.
  • Prepare financial reports for The Arc/Mercer, Inc. and its subsidiaries, preparing monthly Board reports, managing financial agreements between subsidiary corporations and Arc/Mercer, and providing such reports as requested.
  • Assure that all annual reports to the Internal Revenue Service, Social Security, and other federal and state agencies as required will take place.
  • Oversee the financial management of Arc/Mercer's Arc Enterprises Division including worker payroll, maintenance of payroll records, production records, filing of appropriate reports and assisting Arc/Mercer staff in meeting all requirements with the Federal and State Departments of labor.
  • Perform all other duties which relate to Arc/Mercer financial matters as assigned by the Associate Executive Director or Executive Director
  • Act as systems Administrator for the computer system, managing and monitoring the Microsoft Dynamics Nav system, providing training to all staff in the area of MDN system.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working in a non-profit agency.
  • Experience managing and overseeing a budget of at least $5 million dollars.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel experience. 
  • knowledge of automated financial systems.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with proven ability to be clear and concise and to influence and understand their audience.
  • Strong financial, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft DynamicsNav & Therap Services is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Must pass a background check
