Behavior Support Specialist

Part Time Flexible Weekend and Evening Hours

Available($25.00-28.00 per hour)

Full Time 12pm-8pm with one Saturday and Sunday

per month($50k-65k per year)

Key Accountabilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Human Services, Social Work, Special Education or related field.
  • Prior experience working in the field of Human Services and/or Developmental Disabilities.
  • Experience in behavior modification techniques.
  • Experience in the creation of IHPs
  • Good interpersonal, organization and writing skills.
  • Ability to define problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions necessary.
  • Prior experience working in the field of Human Services and/or Developmental Disabilities
  • Experience in behavior modification techniques.

  • Ability to define problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions necessary.
  • ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) preferred.
  • RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) preferred.

 Essential Duties: 

  • Work with the developmentally disabled population.
  • Develop behavior modification plans.
  • Document behavioral interventions and outcomes through the use of individual progress notes.
  • Oversee agency training of crisis management to ensure thoroughness and consistency.
  • Assist with training assessments.
  • Develop and provide staff training on behavioral issues.
  • Fee for Service Assessments.
  • Participate in ISP
  • Establish on-going communication with psychiatric and mental health providers.
  • Compile biographical information and create psycho-social assessments for consumers.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate the varied needs of the program.
  • Maintain behavioral files for all Arc Mercer consumers.
  • Maintain logs for all counseling sessions with consumers.
  • Attend weekly Medical/Behavioral meeting.
  • Coordinate with medical department on behavioral issues.
  • Attend residential management meetings for behavioral related issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Behavioral Department Manager.
