Part Time Recreation Coordinator

(Involve individuals with developmental disabilities in various recreational activities within the community.)

 $14.00 per hour

 

Work with leading Mercer County non-profit, serving people with developmental disabilities. This position is responsible to engage individuals with disabilities with activities and community inclusion.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate and supervise daily activities of recreational programs.
  • Coordinate and participate in recreational trips including weeklong, weekend, and one-day travel.
  • Actively coordinate and participate in Special Olympic activities, including summer and winter games.
  • Network within the community to identify appropriate and safe opportunities for community participation.
  • Acts as liaison between programs and parents to ensure effective communication.
  • Maintain complete, accurate and up to date records for program participants according to established guidelines
  • Monitor programs to ensure high quality of service

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Valid Drivers' License
  • Be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
  • Ability to communicate with consumers, all levels of staff, professionals, family members, and other persons in the community.
  • Must have basic computer literacy.
